Greetings good people! -:)
Good news, it is now time for the first league cooperation between Denmark, Sweden and Norway – with Iceland very welcome as well, of course! Look for “Club Scandinavia League”, or simply go to this link (that hopefully works):
This basically replaces national leagues, as neither SSR nor iracing.no intends to organize competing leagues during season 1.
Further good news: Everybody are welcome, regardless of skill level! And while we of course take racing seriously, we are looking to make friends through this league, meaning appreciating everybody, helping with setups and anything else. Also, we know accidents happen, meaning you should not be afraid of consequences if you are unlucky and cause an accident We have also decided not to charge any entry fee, all races and (official) practices are already taken care of. For each race, there will be two practice sessions ahead! All races are held on Mondays (the traditional SSR day) at 20:00 Scandinavian time. Well, warmup starts at 19:00, qualification at 20:00 and the race at 20:15. Practices are found the Monday before the race, plus the Thursday before the race, both at 20:00 Scandinavian time.
Car choice: GT3. Choose from any of the four GT3 cars, and feel free to switch between races.
This is the schedule:
January 12th – Autódromo José Carlos Pace 45 min
January 26th – Daytona International Speedway (Road course) [night] 70 min
February 9th – Virginia International Raceway (Full course) 45 min
February 23rd – Circuit Zolder (Alternate) 45 min
March 9th – Watkins Glen International (Classic boot) 70 min
And quite possibly we finish off with Mid-Ohio during week 13.
If you match this with the official GT3 schedule, you will find that the league races are always behind official races on the same track, meaning you can use the official series as practice, or simply pick up track specific setups from the forum (not necessarily for the same layout and weather).
Notice that the first practice session then will be January 5th!
See the league page for details and rules, and also sign up by applying to the league!
The use of Teamspeak is encouraged, particularly during practice sessions! The Teamspeak server we will use is the following:
The league is also intended to be a place where you can recruit drivers for teams, either for official racing, unofficial racing or both. Find club members of similar skill levels (or different, for that matter!) or with similar racing desires!
Happy racing, all!
